Well hello there, folks! It's none other than Jamie, reporting in!
Now, let me tell you a little something about myself. I hail proudly from the exquisite land of Newcastle, where I was born and raised. Why aye!
From delectable grub to lively markets, from fabulous shopping to captivating art and music – this city has it all!
I must say, I'm quite the art lover. I've always had a knack for creating unique gifts that you won't find just anywhere!
Speaking of markets and shopping, let me regale you with an adventure I embarked upon with my sisters back in the year 2014. We set up our very own market stalls, offering a "kawaii" (meaning "cute" in Japanese) gifts and a range of handmade goodies throughout Newcastle. Talk about a bloomin' good time!
And as for me, during that pandemic lockdown, I took an unexpected journey to Norwich and discovered a hidden talent for rugmaking. The intricacy and artistry of it all had me hooked, I tell ya!
So, I decided to establish my very own rug-making studio. Oh, the adventures I've had, teaching others this beautiful craft and collaborating with some pretty fancy-schmancy brands!
But ya know what? Something just wasn't quite right – my heart yearned for the comforting embrace of home.
So, in the grand year of 2023, I made the heartfelt decision to relocate my studio back to good ol' Newcastle. Moving all courses online and focusing on the brands.
And let me tell you folks, it's been an absolute blast! I'm thrilled to be back with my sisters at our bustling market stalls, while continuing to grow my rug-making business. Life is just gravy, I tell ya!
What is tufting?
Tufting is a modern take on the traditional craft of rug-making.
Using a tufting gun to weave yarn through a cut of monk's cloth, create abstract patterns, colour-fields or contemporary designs, and finish custom rugs, vibrant wall tapestries and other hand-tufted textiles that make you happy.

Do you have a rug design in mind but don’t know where to start? Or you have a meaningful drawing in mind or on a piece of paper in your sketch book that you want to turn to life!
Whether it is a mirror, rug or cushion...Wang Studio can help create one of a kind bespoke tufted pieces. This is a rare opportunity since most manufacturers don’t accept small orders from artists.
